Boycotting online advertisement: killing two birds with one stone

Corporations cutting advertising spending due to the weak demand caused by the coronavirus pandemic is an easy way to reduce cost. But boycotting online advertising now sounds awfully coincidental. Since we are not going to spend on advertising, might as well take this opportunity to participate in some "Corporate Social Responsibility". Facebook Sees Growing Ad Boycott in Protest Against Handling of Speech Update: Though this is not an entirely fleshed-out post, I just like to mention that I bought shares in Facebook after this post, as I believe that market is double counting the sales impact of both from weaker ads spending caused by the pandemic and also the online ads boycott.
